If you’ve been to a Day at the Beach then you have had the pleasure of seeing Kara surfing. Kara’s smile and joy on the water is so contagious her photo is on the side of our new equipment van! We are so blessed to have her and her family be a part of our ‘ohana and to be able to watch our keiki grow into the future of AccesSurf.

1. Tell us a little about yourself !

I have lived in Oahu for the past 10 years but was born in Yangon, Myanmar.  I will begin 6th grade at Niu Valley Middle School this August.  I love swimming, dancing and horseback riding.

2. How and when did you start with Accessurf?

My mom had heard about Accessurf through a SPIN Conference she attended and I got hooked on surfing when I was 4 years old.

3. What does AccesSurf mean to you?

I love Accessurf because it makes me happy to be on the water and be around all the nice people who participate.

4. Favorite AccesSurf memory?

Favorite memory was surfing with uncle Bruce on my 7th birthday and he made sure I caught 7 waves that day!

5. Anything you want to say to our AccesSurf ‘ohana?

We love you!  We have really missed it during Covid lockdown.  It is so cool!
