This month we are proud to celebrate Devon Ferguson as our Volunteer of the Month! Devon exudes and embodies aloha and is one of our most skilled surf instructors. As a matter of fact while searching for pictures of him for this post there were no photos of him on land because he is ALWAYS in the water, sharing the stoke with our participants. Here is Devon’s experience with us in his own words;

I grew up surfing in Hawaii and I learned how to longboard at White Plains as a kid, so AccesSurf is a special program for me. In addition, now that I am pursuing a career in the military, I put myself in the shoes of the Wounded Warrior participants and volunteers and think that this could be me one day. So, I am truly given the opportunity to count my blessings and appreciate the healing power of the ocean that AccesSurf is able to provide to countless participants, volunteers, and competitors. I have seen this program grow over the course of the last year, but as the program has grown so has my appreciation for my health and ability to share the healing powers of the ocean with this amazing surfing community! I am forever grateful my friends Keola Kane and David Siemann introducing me to AccesSurf!”
