If you’ve been to a program in the last several years- you have had the pleasure of being greeted by Jen who helps run the very hectic role of check-in. Although the check-in tent can get crazy, she’s always calm, cool and collected. When she registers for Day at the Beach, our entire staff sighs in relief, knowing we will be in good hands.

Tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Jennifer Cho, and I was born and raised in Kaneohe. I enjoy cooking, gardening, and just being outdoors.

How and when did you hear about or start with Accessurf

My friend Eddie, has been involved with AccesSurf for years and finally convinced me to check it out. I went to my first DATB in January of 2024, just to observe and see what it was about, but after the morning circle that day, I was hooked……I knew this is where I belong.

What does AccesSurf mean to you?

Opportunity. AccesSurf provides so much opportunity for EVERYONE involved. It gives all of us a chance to make a difference, meet a new person, or experience something incredible.

What is your favorite AccesSurf memory?

There’s too many!! If I had to pick one, it would be meeting one of our participants and his parents at one of my first few DATBs. I was on the beach watching with his mom and he was able to stand up on the board for the first time! We were both thrilled!! Seeing the emotion and smile on her face…..I almost started crying! It made me realize that we’re not just here for the participants, but for their family and friends as well.

Anything you want to share with our AccesSurf ‘ohana?

Words can’t even express how grateful I am to the whole AccesSurf ohana. It’s an amazing organization with such inspiring people. I’d just like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart, it’s been such a privilege to be a part of your community.
