Through our “Day at the Beach™“, Wounded Warrior’s” and “AccesSurf Instruction” programs, our organization is able to achieve its mission of providing beach access and therapeutic ocean activities in a safe and barrier free environment. We invite anyone with any type of cognitive or physical disability and their family members to discover their own level of abilities in the ocean environment.
Our participants range in ages from 3 to 83 and have included paraplegics, quadriplegics, amputees, cerebral palsy, blind, autism, multiple sclerosis, downs syndrome, and others.

AccesSurf’s Wounded Warrior program is a free monthly program providing adaptive aquatic recreation using specialized surfboards, stand up paddle boards and flotation devices for any military personnel with a disability. We provide small group instruction by professionals in the fields of physical, occupational and recreational therapists along with certified surfing instructors and lifeguards for them to achieve the highest level of independence in the ocean. Our goal is to provide a therapeutic program that can empower our military personnel to connect with the ocean and learn healthy areas of recreation and leisure pursuits for their everyday lives.
Therapeutic benefits such as decreased isolative behaviors, improved communication and interactive social skills, reduced behavioral problems, and increased community integration to mainstream recreation activities along with the positive effects of physical exercise and outdoor recreation have been made with our program.
